4. It is also very important to check if the tungsten carbide rings confirm to the techinical requirems and clean the rings, arbor and spacer rings prior to rolling. It is strictly prohibited to hit the rings with hammer or other hard objects while assembling.
Cooling and Cooling Water Quality
1.Cooling is to reduce the effect of hot corrosion, thermal fatigue and thermal stress on the roll ring during steel rolling, and prevent the roll ring from breaking.
2.It can prevent the roll rings from cracking and slow down the diffusion of cracks, prolonging the life time of grooves. It plays an important role in optimizing the performances of roll rings.
3.Cooling data reference: The temperature of cooling water <25 C, cooling water pressure: 5-6 bar, the water volume : 24-30m /hr/stand. The water is sprayed in the radial direction, and the angle between the water jet and the rotation direction of the roll ring is 15-30 degrees. The width of the water column is twice the width of the groove, and the water flow should be sprayed directly into the groove, and the water flow cannot be scattered or foggy.
4.Water quality requirement:
It is necessary to choose different water quality according to the grade of the tungsten carbide rings, such as: medium alkaline water, weak alkaline water, weak alkaline electrolyzed water, or the solid particle content in the water <15 mg/L.

Application Sugesstion:
1. Repair of groove:
After the roll ring is used for a period of time, micro cracks will appear in the rolling groove. If the microcracks are extended and deepened to 0.2mm, the machine should be polished until the microcracks are completely removed to prevent the microcracks from expanding. The normal grinding amount is recommended as follows:
9-10 finishing stands: 0.4-0.6mm
11-8 finishing stands: 0.7-1.2mm
pre-finishing stands: 1.2-2.0mm
2.Because this kind of roll ring has a long service life, the condition of the rack should be checked in time after each rolling, and the lubricating oil should be added in time.
3.Even under good cooling conditions, fatigue cracks will appear. In order to prevent its growth, when the fatigue crack reaches 0.2mm deep, we need to re-process the hole in time. Otherwise, the continuous expansion of cracks may cause the roll to break at any time.
