Indefinite chill cast iron is a material between chill cast iron and grey cast iron. The work layer of this material consists of flake graphites, while the depth below barrel surface increases, the amount of graphites will increase too, but the hardness will decrease.
Product Information
ICDP rolls of this material have excellent wear resistance, thermal crack resistance, spall resistance and seizure properties. The working layer of the ICDP roller is composed of flake graphite, and as the depth below the surface of the cylinder increases, the amount of graphite increases, but the hardness decreases. According to different rolling conditions, by adjusting the chemical composition, the roll matrix can be made into pearlite, bainite, martensite or tempered sorbite. The grade of ICDP ROLL is between chilled cast iron and grey cast iron.
Features
With the advancement of roll technology, ICDP rolls have been completely or partially changed from high-chromium cast iron to high-speed steel. When ordinary ICDP work rolls are used to small diameters, they are no longer suitable for high surface quality hot-rolled coils. At present, the improved ICDP roller is widely used in the world.
